Referrals

Two different things share the name. A refer-a-friend programme rewards your customers for bringing you new ones. Refer a shop rewards you for bringing another food business to Pekkish.

Your refer-a-friend programme

Your happiest customers are your best advertising, and a lunch trade grows by word of mouth round an office. Under Referrals, Programme settings:

• Switch on Run a referral programme. It's off until you choose to run one, because the rewards are your money.
• Reward per successful referral (£): credit your customer earns when a friend they referred places a first order. It's added to their account and comes off their next order with you.
• Welcome credit for the referred friend (£): credit the friend gets the moment they join through the link, to spend on their first order. Set it to 0 to reward only the person who referred them.

Press Save settings. Setting the reward to 0 pauses the programme without taking away credit customers have already earned.

Customers find their own link on their order confirmation and on their account page, and share it however they like. A reward is only ever paid when it has brought you a new customer who has ordered, so it costs you nothing until it works.

Is it working?

The same page shows the whole journey: Shares (links sent to a friend), Link visits, Referred sign-ups and First orders. Below that it shows the money: Rewards paid on both sides, what referred customers have spent with you since, the Net return, and a Return on rewards figure. Return keeps growing after the reward is paid, because a referred customer who keeps coming back keeps adding to it.

Refer a shop

Know another food business that should be on Pekkish? Under Refer a shop you'll find your own referral link and a QR code to share: by email, WhatsApp, or printed for the counter. The other shop signs up through it as normal.

When a shop you referred takes its first order, you both get 3 months of your subscription free. The page lists everyone you've referred and where each one is: awaiting their first order, completed, or expired.

• The referred shop needs to take its first order within 6 months.
• Free months bank up and are used automatically once billing starts, so they aren't lost during a free period.
• The reward covers the monthly subscription at whichever plan each shop is on. The per-order platform commission and Stripe's card fees still apply.
