Making your storefront yours
Your logo, colours, font and layout. A logo and one colour are enough to make your storefront look like your shop, and you can see every change on your real storefront before customers do.
It's all under Settings → Storefront, or the Design tile on your Setup page.
The quick way: generate a theme from your logo
On the Storefront page, press Generate from my logo. Upload your logo (a PNG or JPG with your brand colours in it works best), and optionally add a few words about your shop, such as "friendly artisan bakery". We take the colours from your logo and design a matching theme that's easy to read, in about ten seconds.
You'll see it on your real storefront before anything changes. Then choose Save & use to make it live, or Save & edit to adjust it first.
Doing it yourself
Open a theme to edit it. The preview beside the settings is your actual storefront, and it updates as you go. Nothing changes for customers until you press Save theme. The settings, in the order you'll find them:
Logo and square icon
Your logo appears at the top of your menu. The square icon is just the symbol, without any words, and is used where a full logo is too small to read: a customer's list of shops and the tab in their browser. If you don't add one, we use your logo where it fits and your shop's initial where it doesn't. Both are shared by all your themes.
Layout
How your menu is laid out:
- Modern (the default): one clean page, with big section headings and a wide photo for each section
- Classic: a familiar single-column menu
- Tabbed: categories as tabs above the menu, good for a long menu
- Scroll: everything on one scrolling page
- Billboard: a large image and picture cards (Pro plan). It looks best when your categories and products have photos
Colours
- Primary: your header, buttons and highlights. Usually your main brand colour
- Text on primary: the text on your buttons and header
- Page background: behind everything
- Accent colour: a second colour for prices, badges and highlights. It matches your primary colour unless you change it
We make sure your menu text stays readable, whatever colours you choose. If a background forces us to use plain black or white text, the editor will say so. A clearly lighter or darker background gives a softer look.
Font, buttons and header
Choose a font, a button shape (square, rounded or pill), and whether your header is aligned left or centred. The masthead is the name or logo at the top of your menu. The tagline is a line under your name, like "Fresh every morning since 1998". Each theme has its own tagline, so a Christmas theme can have a Christmas message.
Menu and images
Menu density is comfortable or compact: compact fits more on a phone screen. Menu cards can be flat, shadowed or outlined. A cover image and a background image are both optional. If you use a background image, Content area background decides whether your menu floats over it, sits on a frosted panel, or sits on a solid one. There's an overlay on the background so your text stays readable.
Several themes
You can save more than one theme and switch between them: a summer look, a Christmas one, one for a special offer. The theme marked Live is the one customers see. You can preview any other theme on your real storefront without making it live, then press Make live when you're ready.
Photos on your menu
Product and category photos are set on each product and category, not in the theme. See Building and editing your menu.
Your own web address
On the Pro plan you can use your own domain, like orders.yourshop.co.uk, instead of your Pekkish address. See Sharing your storefront link.
