Configuring your location
A location is a physical place orders are fulfilled from. Most shops have one. If you have more than one site, each becomes its own location.
1. Basic details
Under Settings → Locations, click New location (or edit the one created at signup). Fill in:
- Name — usually the same as your shop name, or "Main shop" if you only have one
- Address — used for collection orders and as the starting point for deliveries
- Phone — shown to customers in case they need to reach you about an order
2. Opening hours
Set your opening hours per day of the week. If you're closed on a given day, leave it as "Closed." Customers can't place orders for a closed day.
3. Cut-off times
The cut-off is the last time of day you'll accept an order for fulfilment that day. Two separate cut-offs:
- Collection cut-off — typically 30–60 minutes before close
- Delivery cut-off — usually earlier than collection, often 11:00 for lunch deliveries
If a customer arrives after the cut-off, they can only order for the next available day.
4. Collection and delivery
Each location can offer:
- Collection only — customers come to you
- Delivery only — you deliver to them
- Both
If you offer delivery, set a minimum order value — typical for sandwich shops doing office runs is £10–£25. Customers below the minimum will be told to add more before they can check out.
5. Delivery zones
Pekkish works out your delivery area by distance from your shop (geocoded from your shop's postcode), using two settings:
- Auto-approve distance — delivery orders to addresses within this radius are accepted automatically.
- Maximum distance — addresses beyond the auto-approve radius but still within this one go into a review queue for you to approve or decline before fulfilment. Addresses past the maximum can't place a delivery order.
When a customer enters a delivery address, Pekkish geocodes it and checks the distance against your zones — no postcode lists to maintain.
6. Advance ordering window
How many days ahead can customers order? Default is 5 days. Set higher (up to 30) if you do event catering or buffet orders that need lead time. Set lower (1 day) if you only want next-day orders.
7. Closed days
Block out specific dates — Christmas Day, bank holidays, annual shutdown weeks, holidays. These days are removed from the customer's date picker. You can set closed days for your whole account (applies to every location) or per-location.
8. Test it
Visit your storefront and walk through placing an order. Verify the date picker only shows valid days, the cut-off works as you expect, and delivery is restricted to your zone.
