Pekkish

Accessibility

Last updated: 7 September 2026.

Pekkish is operated by One Tandem Limited. We want everyone to be able to order lunch and run a shop with it, whatever device or assistive technology they use. This statement covers pekkish.co.uk, every shop storefront on a Pekkish subdomain or custom domain, and the Pekkish apps for iPhone and Android, which show the same pages.

1. What we aim for

We build to WCAG 2.2 level AA. In practice that means: every control works with a keyboard; images carry a text description or are marked decorative; text and its background meet the AA contrast ratio, including a shop's own colours, which we check and adjust automatically when a theme is saved; pages work at 200% zoom and on a phone without sideways scrolling; and forms say what went wrong in words, next to the field.

2. What we know is not right yet

  • Some icons in the shop admin area are buttons without a spoken label yet.
  • The menu-builder's drag-and-drop reordering has no keyboard equivalent; the order can be changed by editing each item instead.
  • We have not yet had the site tested by people who use screen readers day to day. If that is you and you would be willing to, we would be grateful.

3. Tell us

If something on Pekkish gets in your way, email [email protected] and say which page and what happened. We reply within a working day, and a barrier to ordering or to running a shop goes to the front of the queue.

4. Shops' own content

Shops write their own menus, descriptions and allergen information. We give them the tools to do that accessibly, but the words are theirs. If a shop's content is the problem, tell us and we will pass it on and help them fix it.
